We launched Newcity Hearts Arts in 2012 to support the fundraising events of Chicago’s leading cultural organizations. In 2012, that meant we donated $10,534 in print, online and social media support to eight Chicago nonprofits: Young Chicago Authors, American Blues Theater, ThreeWalls, Voices and Faces Project, Fulcrum Point New Music Project, Chicago Dramatists, Striding Lion and Silk Road Rising.
We’re ready to do more in 2013. If you want to learn more, click here for program details.

Here’s a chance to support Chicago dance with one of its smaller but more innovative companies. And have a great time in the process!
Striding Lion Performance Group’s Annual Benefit

Swedish American Museum, 5211 North Clark, $75 per person (includes open bar, appetizers and dancing with a live band)
Striding Lion Performance Group cordially invites you to attend our 2012 benefit—a veritable circus of fun! Please join us as we embark on another year of high, acrobatic endeavors—to build collaborative community, to present dance theater works that push boundaries, and to help educate and empower new striding, striving artists in our schools and neighborhoods. Come for the drinks and the appetizers, the raffle items and the dancing. Stay for the circus peanuts.
Chicago’s second-oldest ensemble theater, American Blues, is holding their major annual fund-raiser this Thursday, and for the cost of a good dinner, you can help keep great art on our stages. Whether it’s a cutting-edge world premiere, the revival of an American classic like “Waiting For Lefty” or the outstanding holiday classic radio-play version of “It’s A Wonderful Life,” American Blues delivers at theater’s highest level.
Get your tickets and we’ll see you there.
